Delicious Homemade Popcorn!
Here is our favourite and the most easiest snack (after fruit of course) homemade popcorn! Here’s how we make it:
Ingredients:
1 cup popcorn
1-2 tablespoons of olive oil (we love using Santa Marta olive oil)
1-2 tablespoons of butter
1 teaspoon of salt
Pepper (optional)
Method:
- Put the olive oil, butter and salt in a pot and allow it to melt.
- Add popcorn and give it a little shake up. Try to ensure there is only one layer of popcorn seeds.
- THE SECRET! When you put the lid on the pot - leave a gap so it’s slightly open. Not big enough that popcorn can pop out the top though. By letting air in the pot it helps stop the popcorn from going soggy.
- Cook on high and turn off once popping slows right down. Take the lid off once popping has stopped.
- Enjoy with friends and family.
This recipe makes a lot of popcorn, so if you don’t need lots you may want to half the recipe. We usually eat some and then put the rest in a container and use it for lunches, play dates, snacks etc.
