Delicious Homemade Popcorn
This recipe makes a LOT of popcorn, so if you don't need a lot you may want to half the recipe.
We usually eat some and then put the rest in a container for lunches, play dates etc. Who would have thought that popcorn is so much harder to make than you think. Here is how the hubby mastered it:
Ingredients:
1 cup popcorn
2-3 tablespoons olive oil (of course we use Santa Marta olive oil)
1 teaspoon Murray River pink salt (or a salt of your choice)
x2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
Pepper (optional)
Method:
- Put the olive oil, butter and salt in a pot and allow to slightly melt.
- Add popcorn and stir the mixture into it. Try to ensure there is only one layer of popcorn seeds.
- Put the lid on the pot, cook on high and turn off once popping slows right down. Do not take the lid off until popping has slowed right down.
- Enjoy!
